Wolfe St & Biddle St, Baltimore, MD
3900 Sq. Ft.
Commissioned by the East Baltimore Development Corp. & John Hopkins University to brighten the neighborhood of Eager Park. The mural features teachers, students, families and a local veteran of Eager Park. The center panel of the background is inspired by the classic Baltimore Marble “stoop”. The outer panels are patterns based on the circle of life symbol, and the Hela Cells of Henrietta Lacks who was once a resident of Eager Park. Each flower bordering the mural has a symbolic meaning expressed through floriography, and inspired by the victory gardens and “arrabber” tradition of old Eager Park.
